This month we take a closer look at the history of the American conservation movement. We are joined by Dr. Dorceta Taylor to discuss her book, The Rise of the American Conservation Movement: Power, Privilege, and Environmental Protection. Dr. Taylor is James E. Crowfoot Collegiate Professor and Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at the University of Michigan. Dr. Taylor’s research interests include urban agriculture, food access, natural resource use, race, gender, and ethnic relations. She has an M.A. and a Ph.D. in environmental sociology from Yale University.
