Who knew such a lovely wildflower hike was tucked into the high country of Clear Creek? Butler Gulch is about 4.8 miles round trip with an elevation gain of about 1,600 feet. Forest opens into a huge, flower-filled expanse. We top out just shy of 12,000 feet at some old, rusty mining equipment. This is a moderate hike. Adults only. Dogs ok. Max 12 participants. Questions? Call co-leaders Tish Mobley 404-993-6835 and Bonnie Benjamin 303-704-6313.
Bring: Bring plenty of water -- at least as quart -- a snack, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, sturdy footwear, clothing in layers, including wind/rain jacket.
Additional Directions: Take I-70 to exit 323. Drive past Empire. Go left on the Henderson Mine/Jones Pass Road. Bear right near the mine entrance gate. You'll see parking.
