The Minneapolis City Council just unanimously passed a resolution committing the city to run on 100% clean and renewable electricity by 2030!
This historic resolution means that Minneapolis is the largest city in Minnesota, and 65th city or town nationwide, to commit to 100% clean and renewable energy for all.

This incredible victory shows that people in Minnesota are committed to clean energy, and it’s time that our largest utility, Xcel Energy, respond in kind to the high demand for investments in renewables.

Right now, Xcel Energy is developing its long term energy plan for Minnesota. This provides a huge opportunity to get the rest of Minnesota on a path to 100% renewable energy.

As a part of this effort, we must hold Xcel accountable to a transition based in principles that advance equity and seeks input from diverse communities in order to make an energy system that supports all Minnesotans.

Over the next year, we'll be calling on Xcel Energy to stop investing in dirty energy and develop a strong plan that puts all of Minnesota on a path to 100% Renewable energy. We hope you'll join us.
