Tell President Obama: Designate Maine Woods National Monument now!

Protect Maine woods now!

Maine’s spectacular wilderness is the largest expanse of contiguous northern forest east of the Mississippi River, but it is not protected from increasing development pressures.

Fortunately, there is a plan to create a new national park and recreation area to permanently preserve this truly unique and special natural landscape for generations to come.

The first step towards a new Maine Woods National Park is for President Obama to designate the area a national monument. Such a designation will not only preserve a historically and ecologically important area, but also give the local economy a much-needed boost while protecting access to traditional outdoor activities.

Please take action by urging President Obama to designate Maine Woods National Monument now!
