Donald Trump wants to gut the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) budget, which would give polluters a free pass to poison our air, water, climate and communities.  Those most at risk from pollution -- the ill, the elderly, our kids --  would suffer the most. On the chopping block are dozens of programs that protect our climate, safeguard our air and water, and clean up toxic pollution.

Parents and families across the political spectrum need the EPA preserved and strengthened, not shredded as Trump has proposed. The good news is that while Trump proposes a budget, it's Congress who sets it. But they’ll be under pressure from polluters to cave to Trump’s plans.  Let’s fight for the strong EPA we need to keep our kids healthy and safe.

Sign the petition to tell your representatives in Congress to #SavetheEPA and defend our kids, communities and climate from Trump's toxic budget.

Oppose Trump's toxic cuts to the EPA budget
Donald Trump’s proposed cuts to the EPA's budget and staff are a threat to the health and well-being of our kids, communities and the environment. For 45 years, the EPA has protected Americans from the dangers of pollution – enforcing common sense safeguards like the Clean Air and Water Acts and protecting us from mercury, arsenic and soot from power plant smokestacks, acid rain, sulfur dioxides, radon and pesticides that threaten food and water. Backsliding to the days when smog filled our cities, our rivers burned from pollution, and we drank contaminated water should not be an option -- we cannot afford to put lives at risk, especially just to boost polluter profits. Slashing the EPA's budget and decimating its ability to enforce our laws and rules will come with casualties. Rates of asthma attacks and heart attacks will spike, premature deaths related to pollution will increase, and climate change will accelerate. Those most at risk from pollution -- the ill, the elderly, our kids --  would suffer the most. Congress please ensure that the EPA has the budget and staff needed to carry out its mission to protect our air, water, kids, climate and communities.
